Association specialists say that the hallmark of an effective organization is the services provided to its members. The West Virginia School Boards Association is proud to provide an array of services to its 55 member county boards of education, ranging from excellent communications tools to a wide array of entrepreneurial endeavors such as superintendent searches, customized workshops, and coordination of community forums.
Many of these services are available to county boards through maintenance of WVSBA membership while other offerings are available on a contractual basis through the association's BoardWorks initiative (entrepreneurial services).
WVSBA, in fact, continues to be a forthright, progressive organization, concentrating its programming around four pillars of excellence: advocacy, membership development, communications and entrepreneurial services.
In working to serve its members, the Association not only is able to meet the needs of a diverse membership but also is positioned to assist county boards in serving their true constituents, the state's 285,000 public education students.
